This 9day Uganda safari takes you to the Bwindi forest national park and the Mgahinga Gorilla national park in the Southwestern Uganda. Forest Birding in this part of the country ranks the best in Uganda because it is ahome of over 23 highly localised Bird species.

DAY 1. Arrival in Uganda and travel to Kisoro.

Upon arrival at the Entebbe international airport, you will be met by our safari guide and driver who will transfer you to Kampala and then to Kisoro town in the South western Uganda if you had an early Flight.

You will have a stopover at the Equator and later proceed to Mbarara town where you will have your Lunch before heading further  down Kisoro. You will spend your dinner and overnight at the lodge booked of your choice. Accommodation; Budget: Kisoro Travellers Hotel Meal plan: Dinner

DAY 2. Birding in Mgahinga Gorilla national park

You will wake up very early in the morning for breakfast and then we will drive to Ntebeko Camp in the Mgahinga Forest national park from where we will start our trek to probably the most scenic and protected area in Uganda.

We will take the gorge trail that loops half way up Mt. Sabinyo and pass through a variety of montane habitats looking for birds like: Dusky Turtle Dove, Rwenzori Turaco, Cape Robin-Chat, White-eyed Slaty Flycatcher, Grassland Pipit and many more. Dinner and Overnight will be  at the lodge of your choice. Accommodation; Budget: Kisoro Travellers Hotel Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 3. Birding in Echuya Forest and in Ruhija.

On our way to Ruhija,we will bird through the Echuya Forest with astop at a papyrus Swamp on the outflow of Lake Bunyonyi for greater swamp Werbler,Papyrus Yellow Warbler and Papyrus Canary they are elusive and need a little luck but we will also look for: Carruther’s Cisticola and Little Rush Warbler.

Then we continue with our drive to the Ruhiji looking for Birds like Handsome Francolin, Olive Pigeon, Western Green Tinkerbird and others. Later you will return at your lodge for the dinner and overnight. Accommodation; Budget: Gorilla Forest camp/ Lake              Kitandara lodge / Buhoma Homestead. DAY 4. Birding in the Mubwindi Swamp.

You will wake up very early in the morning for the breakfast and after you will go down to the Mubwindi Swamp to look for the Birds like Black-billed Turaco, Western Green Tinkerbird, Fine-banded Woodpecker, African Green-Broadbill, Mountain Greenbul, Yellow-streaked Greenbul, African Hill Babbler, Mountain Illadopsis,Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Grauer’s Warbler, Grauer’s Rush Warbler and others. DAY 5. Birding on the way to Bwindi.

We shall drive while Birding to Bwindi (Buhoma) to look for Birds such as Tambourine Dove, Black Bee-eater, Red-throated Wryneck, Mountain Wagtail, Toro Olive-Greenbul, White-starred Robin, Olive Thrush, Cassin’s-grey Flycatcher, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Grauer’s Warbler, Chubb’s Cisticola, Banded Prinia, Mountain Masked Apalis and others. DAY 6. Birding in Bwindi.

After your early breakfast, you will start Birding in the main trail of Bwindi impenetrable Forest national park to search for Birds species like African Goshawk, Bar-tailed Trogon, Black Bee-Eater, White-headed Wood-hoopoe, Tinkerbirds and Barbets, Woodpeckers, African Broadbill, assorted Greenbuls, White-bellied Robin-Chat, Red-throated Alethe, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Black-faced Rufous Warbler and others. DAY 7. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi.

2 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking TourYou will wake up early in the morning at around 7:30am for the breakfast and then go to the bwindi impenetrable forest to meet the awesome Mountain Gorillas. For those who prefer Birding will continue by having breakfast in the early morning and start birding the waterfall trail looking out for the bird species like Red-chested Owlet, if lucky Fraser’s Eagle Owl, Black Bee-Eater, African Broadbill, White-tailed Crested-Flycatcher which may have been missed in the previous Birding activities.

DAY 8. Birding in Kaku swamp.

Here early in the morning after breakfast we shall start up our journey to Kampala. Along the way, we will be able to make astop over at the Kaku swamp for more birds like Rufous bellied Heron, Hottentot Teal, Purple Swamp Hen, Lilac-breasted Roller, Striped Kingfisher, Golden-backed Weaver then continue with the journey to Kampala. Dinner and overnight will be at your booked lodge

DAY. 9 Departure.

You will be transferred to Kampala for your flight back home.
