This 8 day Murchison, Kibale and Semliki safari takes you to the Murchision falls national park the Uganda’s spectacular Heritage of Geographical gifting along the Albertine rift valley. It will also take you to the Kibale forest national park for the chimp tracking and other primates plus the nature walk in the Bigodi swamp for Bird opportunities.

Another experience will be the Sempaya hot springs where you can participate in a rare boiling of  eggs in the bubbling pools of hot water.

Detailed Itinerary of the 8 Day Murchison, Kibale And Semliki Safari

DAY 1. Arrival in Uganda.

You will be picked at the airport by our safari guide and driver who will transfer you to the hotel in Kampala booked for you. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel. Accommodation: Luxury; Serena hotel kampala Mid range;  Anderita beach hotel entebbe Budget; Gately inn Entebbe. Meal plan; Dinner.

DAY 2. Travel to Murchision falls national park( 5-6)hrs.

You will wake up very early in the morning, take your breakfast and then go to Murchision falls national park via the Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will have an opportunity to track Rhinos. The sanctuary houses Uganda’s Rhino reintroduction project.

There are 9 Rhinos and trekking is done on foot for one and ahalf hours. After there you will proceed to Masindi town for lunch and then drive to the Murchision falls national park. The journey takes 5- 6 hours. Dinner and overnight will be at the booked lodge.

DAY 3. Game drive and Boat launch on the Nile.

You will wake up early in the morning at around 6:30am for asunrise game drive along the Nyamsika plateau where you will be able to see the cape buffalos, Uganda kobs, water bucks and harte bucks. You may also be able to see Bush bucks, Bohor reed buck, shy statunga, bush duiker, bush pig and large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas.

Some water animals like crocodiles and the hippos will be spotted along  the banks of the nile. Chimpanzees and the olive baboons are also found in the park. There are also some of the bird species which can be spotted which include, Goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee eaters, king fishers,horn bill, saddle bill stork, and the rare shoebill stork.

There after you will return to the lodge for the late breakfast and have some relaxation waiting for lunch. Then in the evening you will be able to go for the boat cruise on the placid victoria nile, up stream,  to the base of the falls.Enroute you will see some crocodiles, hippos, some water bucks and a variety of some bird species like the unusual shoebill stork.

Then boat stops just ten meters away from the devil cauldron for the pictures to be taken. Accommodation; Luxury : Paraa safari lodge/ Nile safari lodge. DAY 4. Visit to the top of the falls and transfer to Kibale Forest national park.

You will after your breakfast in the morning visit the top of the thunderous Murchison falls where you will observe the River Nile squeezing itself in a 7 meter gorge before tumbling 40 meters down in a thunderous explosion and then flows down into a very peaceful river whose water banks are swarmed with a profusion of water and land animals as well as birds.

You will therefore set off  for a 9hour journey to Kibale national park. Along the journey you will be inter-passing traditional homesteads, Farms via Fort Portal which rests in the mountains of the moon. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 5. Chimp trek and nature walk in Bigodi swamp.

You will wake up early in the morning and take your breakfast. Then by around 8:00am you be at kanyanchu tourist center for the briefing on how to track chimpanzees. The park is only accessible by foot and this gives you great opportunity to also see other primates and animals as well as different bird species, butterflies and other insects.

The walk takes of about  2-3 hours. There after you will return to the lodge for lunch and later in the evening you will go for anature walk in bigodi wetland to see different birds and monkey species. And later then return to the lodge for dinner and the overnight.

DAY 6. Visit to the Crater lakes.

You will wake up very early in the morning for the breakfast and head for an exploration of crater lakes to enjoy the beauty of numerous small lakes surrounded by gentle  hills and stunning views. You can also take a hike at lake NKuruba to see different species of primates and Birds and also to visit Mahomet falls.

You can also meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn about the customs of their values and also enjoy the panoramic views

DAY 7. Visit to the Hot springs and pygmy encounter.

8 Day Murchison, Kibale And Semliki Safari.You travel to Semliki national park for another but different experience. You will take a nature walk to the Hot springs where you can participate in a rare experience of boiling of  eggs in the bubbling pools of hot water. You can also visit the pygmy village to meet these people and ask them about their cultures and norms.

In the late you will travel to Fortportal where you will have your dinner and overnight in the booked lodge. Accommodation; Mountains of the moon. Meal plan ; Breakfast, Lunch and dinner.

DAY 8. Cultural tour and returning back to Kampala.

Here you have two options of either visit the Karambi tombs (burial sites where the Toro Kings are burried and other cultural) for acultural experience or transfer you back to Kampala with stopovers at the different tourist attractions.

Among the attractions will be a stopover at the Uganda Equator where you will get a chance to stand in the two hemispheres and have some photos.

Later you will also make another stop over at the Royal drum makers center where you will be able to see some ceremonial drums being crafted using Traditional methods. Later you will arrive at Kampala in the late evening for you flight or overnight and dinner to the booked lodge.
