Kibale National Park is a home to 13 primate species including over 1500 chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, olive baboons, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys and others.

Detailed Safari Plan for 3 Days Kibale Forest National Park

Day 1: Departure for Kibale Forest National Park

Since your journey to Kibale National Park takes about 5-6 hours, you are expected to get up early enough and enjoy your breakfast. After, get briefing from our experienced driver guide on what your 3 days Kibale National Park tour is all about.

Later, drive via Kampala-Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal to Kibale National Park. En-route, enjoy your lunch at Fort Portal and continue driving via the countryside of Uganda. Accommodation options: Primate Lodge/Chimp Nest Lodge/Kyaninga Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

After you have had your delicious breakfast at your respective safari lodge, you will join other visitors at Kanyanchu visitor center for briefing on safety measures for chimpanzee tracking.

3 Days Kibale Forest National ParkYou will be put in a group of six visitors and one park ranger guide will be assigned to you. A trek to view chimpanzees in Kibale National Park may last you 2-4 hours and this also includes one hour of face to face encounter, exploring their behavior and take as many photos as possible.

After, return to lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you have nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary. A nature walk in Bigodi Wetland gets you amazing encounter at variety of primate species including black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons and others plus birds and butterflies.
